It Doesn’t Get Much Clearer Than This December 30, 2009

The law is “all or nothing,” pass/fail:  Gal. 5:3, James 2:10
(There is no “try harder.”)

Those who try, but fail to keep all of the law are cursed:  Gal. 3:10

The law breeds sin: Rom. 7:5,8

The law brings death: Rom. 7:10

Where law increases, sin increases: Rom. 5:20

The law leads us to Jesus: Gal. 3:24

Jesus didn’t destroy the law, but for the believer, the
law is fulfilled: Mat.5:17

Jesus is the end of the law for the believer: Rom. 10:4

We are dead to the law: Rom. 7:4, Gal.2:19

To be under the law is to have sin as your master: Rom. 6:14

Grace, not law, teaches us to say no to sin: Titus 2:11,12

The law speaks to those who are under the law: Rom. 3:19
But we are not under the law: Rom. 6:14

We are no longer under the supervision of the law: Gal. 3:25

The law is good and will not disappear
(Rom. 7:12, Mat. 5:18-18), BUT

The law is not for the righteous: I Tim. 1:8

We are the righteousness of Christ: Rom. 10:4, 1 Cor. 1:30,
Gal. 3:24, II Cor. 5:21, II Cor. 5:17

God writes His laws on our hearts: Heb. 8:10, 10:16
(Not the law of Moses!)

His laws are “Love God. Love people.”
Mat. 22:37-49, I Jn. 4:8

Love is the fulfillment of the law: Rom. 13:10

To return to the law is foolishness: Gal. 3:2,3

To trust in the law is to nullify Christ’s death: Gal. 2:21

We are not to return to the slavery of the law: Gal. 5:1

Those in Christ have already been judged: Jn.3:18

There is now no condemnation in Christ: Rom 8:1
