I have an enormous issue with the Written Word or the Bible being equated with the “Word of God” or “Jesus”. I obviously agree that it is the written form of the “Word”, and that it indeed reveals and expresses Jesus or the grace of God and His Message, but I quit worshipping the external Bible or Written Word years ago. The “Living Word” internally should never replace the inner testimony of the Spirit. Even if the Reformers placed the emphasis on the Intellect as a replacement for the external Roman Catholic Church, it doesn’t make it any more palatable. It is easy to see what this emphasis on the external human intellect has done to splinter the Christian Church.

      Thanks for you comments.
I love the Bible. I thank God for it. But I do believe we have had the wrong approach to it for a long, long time.
We have made it something that God never intended it to be. I’ve known many Christians who go on and on about
their faith in the Bible, rather than about their relationship with Jesus. They waist many hours “arguing the Bible,” and
defending the Bible, like that’s a prerequisite for knowing God.
      Anyway…
I don’t know if you read these yet, but here are two really good articles. Lots of information. Check them out, if you have the time.

      On Bible Idolatry

      Blessings.
