This is a very interesting read. Mr. Klassen goes through the scriptures to examine, point by point, what the Bible does, and does not, teach about hell.
Some of his conclusions seem a bit of a stretch, but for the most part he brings a much needed clarity to the subject. It always amazes me: The difference between what scripture teaches, and what we’ve been taught to believe it teaches.
You certainly do not have to be a Universalist (which the author is) to gain valuable insights from this book. Many who don’t read outside their preferred belief system cut themselves off of so much God has to offer. If we only read and listen to the teachers we’ve always listened too, yes, we will retain the same truths we’ve always had. We will, unfortunately, also retain the same lies we’ve always had.
This book has a lot to say about how we approach the divinely inspired scriptures. As always, we must look at the original authors intent, and try to hear what the original audience heard. With that in mind, I certainly recommend this book.
